Laser Quest STEM Trip

As part of the year-end celebration, twenty-four students from Danforth CTI’s boys and girls group as well as grade 12 lead mentors, Child & Youth Counsellor Latoya Williams and teacher Paul Turnbull attended Laser Quest on Wednesday, April 6th. This event provided students with the opportunity to learn about ‘Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)’,  through the analysis of ‘light and colour’ properties that are applied to technology and how these concepts apply in the everyday world. Laser Quest instructors taught students the basics of lasers: what exactly is a laser? And how does a laser travel through air to sensors that are worn by players.  In addition participating students in both groups strengthened their team building skills.
